Aims

Right to Information is the Queensland Government's approach and commitment to provide access to information, unless on balance it is contrary to the public interest to provide that information. Right to Information aims to:

  • make more information available
  • provide equal access to information across all sectors of the community
  • provide appropriate protection for individuals' privacy.

Freedom of Information applications

Any current applications made under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (the FOI Act) prior to the commencement of the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) will continue to be processed by the department under the FOI Act.
